Message from the HOD
Our department strives to meet national and international standards of health care delivery, teaching, training and research, with special emphasis on intensive care and pain management. We aim to provide optimum perioperative care in both elective and emergency operation theatres of all specialities of mayo hospital.
INTRODUCTION
The department of Radiology of Mayo Hospital Lahore was establish in 1890 as Lala Ram Ji Das Xray Extension and since then the department is providing radiology services to in patients and out patients.
Our Radiology Department is equipped with state of the art imaging including but not limited to Digital x-ray machines, dual energy C.T.Scan and MRI. Ultrasound services are available from grey scale to high end color Doppler studies. Interventional Radiological services including vascular intervention are available with cutting edge Bi-plane angiography machine. Other than that, we are well equipped to provide a full range of imaging modality including Digital Fluoroscopy and Mammography. Moreover the department is providing in-patients and out patient services dedicated to Paediatric, Urology and Orthopaedic specialties. Finally the department is providing round the clock emergency services including x-rays, C.T. Scan and Ultrasound.
Our Health Care services are provided by MO, WMO, APMO and Postgraduate trainees in Radiology. Our Postgraduate programs include MD, FCPS, and MCPS. BSc (Hons) MIT and Diploma in Radiology Technology are also conducted. The faculty of the department including Senior Registrars, Assistant Professors and Associate Professor are dedicated to teaching under and postgraduates, playing their part in training the next generation of competent radiologists.
The HealthCare environment is changing rapidly and imaging is at center of many of these changes. It is imparitive that academic radiology department takes the lead in defining the value of imaging, assure the highest quality of patient care delivery of imagning and integration with our referring clinical cares team.
Vision
Centralization of all the Radiological subspecialty services.
Each subspecialty department including A & E, OPD, Urology, Gynae & Obs, and Pediatrics Department will be managed by Assistant Professor for each department under direct supervision of Chairman of Radiology.
Digitalization / film less technology in radiology
Installation of PACS system in radiology and intergrade with clinical departments.
